Boat acquired. But Winter is coming...

Hey folks.

Mike in Norway here.

I recently posted that we were looking at boats. Well, we pulled the trigger on a bene 311.

I think it is a good choice for the Norwegian and Swedish coasts.It would also make an okay liveaboard, although a little smaller than I would like.

Sadly, however, the boat is on land, covered in a series of heavy tarps waiting for Spring.

Best case scenario is that I will get it in the water mid to late April. This is quite early for Norway, but I am keen.

Now all I have to do is wait six months. Sigh.....

Yes, the winter is hard and long, especially when you want it to be spring YESTERDAY. Maybe it will be fun for you to spend some of your time making plans for summer. If you are of boat projects, that you want to accomplish, spend some thought there, and get them all organized, which tools you want to use, etc.

Other than that, there are books, and films, and perhaps cross country skiing?

I want to reassure you that all will be well, but of course, I can't know that, just know that a bunch of us understand, and are wishing you well. And congratulations, as well.

Yes, cross country skiing is on the cards!! Ice skating too...

I plan to try to repaint the cockpit enclosure material from dark red to dark blue. If it works, it will match the rest of the boat's canvas.

I just need to figure out what that requires...
