Excellent suggestions, folks. I love the Open BIC, but the PT 11, although more traditional in design, looks like it may fit my criteria fairly well, particularly the stowage concern. Manufacturer's in my corner of the world, too, so that's a plus.

The PT 11 is a pretty little boat; well thought out, and from building the bigger skiff, I know how accurately the parts are cut, and how well they fit together.

You will probably not get a response from them until end of July as they close during the slow-for-them summer months. Gone sailing!

I would check out a feva bug, the have a asymmetrical spinnaker. Are fast and light. Good for one or 2 people. Somthing to consider if you want to get your wife on board is a boat she will fit in and have fun.

Although up here in CT the JSA sails Pixels. A great boat but difficult to get anywhere else but CT. The Pixel and the Feva are 14 ft but can be car topped.
