Will do,

We are bringing several ways of taking videos and pictures and will be posting whenever we can get online.

We are in Shilshole Bay Marina right now getting fitted with a Flemming wind Vane, New Radar Dome and Dodger, etc.

We are still holding to our date for leaving on the 28th. So far looks like the weather will hold out for us but never know

Are you reconsidering Davao as a destination.. given the m arina kidnapping event on Monday?

Subic Bay is by far the best location in the Phils to get yourself acclimatized before Cruising elsewhere.

Yes we are chatting with our friends in Davao about the kidnapping in Holiday view Marina. Its unfortunate that the local government there will probably do nothing to help.

I wonder if any of the yachies will stay in Samal now since that happened. To bad because it is a decent marina.

We will probably go to Subic or Palawan to check in since we have contacts in both places.

Looks like Monday or Tuesday is your next window. How did you like Cape Flattery?

Yeah hopefully Tuesday will be good.

Cape Flattery was perfect. went out on the outgoing tide and wind on our backs. but half way to Westport the wind died... sad.

24 hour run from Clalam Bay to Westport. Be careful coming in the Grays Harbor channel at night, some of the green channel markers are missing according to my chart plotter. on top of that there is so many red lights along the shore that it is a little confusing knowing which ones are the channel markers until you get close.

Re: Leaving from Seattle to San Francisco then across the Pacific

By the way, We have to stay in San Francisco for a week or so. I found Clipper Bay and Aquatic Cove as good locations for us. Anyone have experience anchoring in those places? I'm wondering how long they will let us stay. I heard a while back that they do not like you staying more than a night or too.

There are restrictions on overnight and extended stays. Here are some links with more details:
Clipper Cove | Treasure Island Development Authority
Aquatic Park Cove - San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service)

Hello and welcome (edit - soon?) to SF! I'll be at my boat tomorrow (10/9) at Treasure Island taking a couple of friends out for the Fleet Week parade of ships and the air show. I'll keep channel 72 open, if you'd like to hail us or send me a PM and I can send details on joining us for the day

I can also give you info about coming into Clipper Cove -- bad shoaling at entrance to TI/Yerba Buena.

Re: Leaving from Seattle to San Francisco then across the Pacific

Thanks Paul and Carliane! We are hoping to arrive in SF bay at around the 22nd if we can stay ahead of the next storm coming in. We will be leaving Westport Wa this coming Tuesday and sailing until we have to tuck in again. Hopefully straight to Coos Bay or Eureka

Re: Leaving from Seattle to San Francisco then across the Pacific

Clipper Cove strategy: we have a six foot draft.

1. Stay way north, close to the big pier

2. Depending our your draft, I've learned (17 years) that I cannot enter or leave unless the tide is 0 feet or higher. If you're here during minus tide heights, you MUST plan ahead.

Neither CC or AP have access to shopping/provisioning. CC is quiet and peaceful. AP can be rolly and loud.

Safe journey.

Thanks Stu, I also have a 6 foot draft so I will be careful. As far as provisioning, we have the luxury of having our family in Oakland to come get us and take us around
