American buying Canadian boat

So, I am considering making a purchase of Canadian built and Flagged boat.
Planning of bringing it to US.
Anybody knows what's the process?
What kind of tax complications are there?
What paperwork needs to be submitted? Both in Canada and US?

Also, can I keep the boat under Canadian flag, if I am US citizen?

There are a lot of Canadians here who are buying boats in US.
But I didn't see any thread of going the other way.

Yes you can keep the Canadian registry. If you do, transfer the title in Canada while you're there. Then you just have to deal with the tariff and depending on your home state you may have to pay sales tax.

You need your title, survey or sales contract to show value. You need to look up the new N.American trade agreement for the current tariff.
I imported my current boat from Canada, but it was built in the US, so no tariff. And I live in Oregon, so no sales tax. My total cost going thru customs was $12.50.

Customs likes to know you're coming. Advise the customs office where you plan to cross and the date to expect you.
