Trent-Severn depths

Thinking about doing the Trent-Severn system with a five foot draft sailboat. Anyone done it and were there any problems in the western section which is limited to six feet. I emailed their office and all they did was copy/paste what is on the website. Are depths noticeably better in June than July? If I could keep weight off and save 2 to 3 inches is it worthwhile?
