You could have a new one shipped up from Guatemala. Not much chance of finding a used 15 Enduro down here though. The dealer here always has a new one or can get one the next day from GUA. The shipper here in Rio Dulce has weekly container shipments to Miami and she could probably take care of everything for you.

My understanding is a dealer/manufacturer cannot ship to the US, only individuals due to a 2006 EPA ruling.

By shipping to the US, I believe you are importing, and importation of that motor is not allowed. I mean as an individual.
There are dozens of examples, small dirt bikes, scooters etc can be bought very inexpensively overseas, but your not getting one back to the US, I have looked into it.
You may get lucky and you may only lose the item or they may make it ugly, purely at their discretion.

We had an idiot Sales guy put a bottle or two of booze inside of an aircraft we shipped in a shipping container to Australia. By just pure luck they didn’t push the issue, cause I believe that could have gotten real ugly.

No, Rita the shipping agent would go over the Yamaha dealer, buy you an engine and ship it to you.

I wanted to ship an Ahamay bike back from Malaysia. They were cheap and an obvious knockoff on a Yamaha, so obvious it’s actually Yamaha spelled backwards

I think it isn't going to work with Rita. If the manifest list the motor US Customs isn't letting it in. I imported a motor last year that was EPA compliant and it was a major pain, requiring an agent, fees, duties and certifications.


I live in the Hampton Roads in Va, where a couple rallies start to head south. I've been thinking of trying to get a boat to bring back a Tohatsu 9.8Hp 2-cycle from the islands for me. There is little question about an outboard handing off a bracket on the back of the boat. We cruise Bahamas, they don't have any Tohatsu dealers and the new VAT and duties kick the cost up on outboards. If any one has a 9.8 2-cycle Nissan/Tohatsu give me a PM. Sorry for the side track.

That is a fine motor, but it has an Achilles heel. When tilting up on the transom, always make sure the tiller handle is down, ie. tilted as for a left turn.
