I just caught it off in Florida, off of the Miami coast. Edible? Thanks!!!

Nope I don't know what it is, but what fish are inedible? Now I want eat Spanish or King Mackerel too bloody, but I know of no inedible fish?
OK maybe Catfish
I don't know what it is, some kind of Jack?

Looks like what we call a trevally in Australia. Edible and young ones are good for sushi

Definitely an amberjack, you'd have to look up the differences between the Greater and Lesser, but if I remember correctly it's the Greater that is the "most edible".. But I agree with phisher on the species. Nice fighters too.

Pretty sure they're both jack crevalle. They don't eat them here in south Louisiana, supposedly too strong and oily, but they don't eat mullet or hardheads around here either....

If it's real fresh, Mullet is about the best eating there is.
Unlikely to catch one unless you snag it though

I use to catch mullet on hook and line all the time in Homosassa.. Little bread balls as bait.:big grin: Yes they are very good to eat.
