there is no doubt that corian is easy to
work with, affordable and looks decent and i had considered it.
i often struggle with remembering that my
boat is not my house where i would never consider adding corian to the 40k dollar kitchen or 12k dollar bathroom.
i am conditioned to jump to custom solutions and believe ;there is always a way' so... when staring at the
galley and think, if only concrete were not so heavy... it came to me that lam res and 206 has about the same consistency of concrete.
building the form, pouring out the resin for the top coat and then laying up the
fiberglass for strength is the easy part and while i know a lot about resin work this is an application i have never considered leaving me with the aforementioned questions about heat and scratching.
i am gonna give the corian a look and see how it would come together.
