Ultrasonic hull cleaning...anyone, anyone...Bueller?

Ok...I'm just as tired of the ritual of hauling and bottom painting as I am about head maintenance so I looked into alternatives. Does anyone know anything about "ultrasonic hull cleaners"? Better yet does anyone have one they could tell us about?
Thanks.

You understand that ultrasonic devices don't eliminate the need for anti fouling paint, right?

Re: Ultrasonic hull cleaning...anyone, anyone...Bueller?

We installed a system (Clean-a-Boat, out of Oz) on our boat 3yrs back and it performed very well. This is in Singapore where the waters are 28C and marine growth is rapid and aggressive. The boat should still have an anti-foul and we found that it generally lasted longer (twice as long between haul outs). We had 2x transponder fitted on the GRP 40ft boat and it ran 24/7. The odd barnacle still made an appearance and the waterline interface still requires a cleaning.

Tot,

Any updates?

I went to the Seattle Boat Show and saw Ultra-SoniTec – Ultrasonic Antifouling | Providing the world’s best ultrasonic antifouling system for all boats.

It looked like a quality piece.

I'm waiting for updates, too. This is a technology that's been around for a few years now, but I have yet to see anyone say anything like...

"I've been using it on my boat for more than a year now and it is working [great, like crap, whatever]."

This technology has been around for decades, not just a few years. It isn't any more widely used now than it was then. That should tell you something.

I'm waiting for the major boat manufacturers to start offering it as a factory option. When and if that happens, we can assume it actually works.

Here's a test which is pretty convincing.

I hope they work better than the ultrasonic bird repeller.
