Unhappy Toe Rail / T-Track Search

Below is a drawing in inches of the toe rail/T-track from our Choate 40. I've been pulling it off for re-sealing but would also like to replace it with all the scares and errosoin. It's a lot of work and I don't want to have to do it again (in my life time) but I'm having trouble trying to locate this stuff with theses dimensions and combinations. I believe the manufacturer is Marriman but can't find them anywhere. One of the cars had the name casted into it.

I've contacted the boat builder Dencho Marine and Rig-Rite and I'm getting no respondse to the run around scenario. I'm starting to look at aluminum extrusion manufactures to see if any have made this extrusion.

Has anyone herd of this manufacture/supplier, Marriman?

Any help would be appreicated.....................DelmarRey

Toe-Rail Track

I can see why you want to replicate your existing toe rail track - it looks quite unique.

BTW: I think the cars (not the track) were made by "Merriman-Holbrook" .

Taco Metals has a large on-line catalogue of extrusions.

You might also try "Sailorman" in Ft. Lauderdale, or "Doc Freeman's" in Seatle, for used / surplus parts.

C. Sherman Johnson Co. has some neat Folding Cleats for mounting on conventional toe-rails, and on 1.25" track.
I think they are @

Good luck

Tacometals

I did contact Tacometals and there response was just "do not have".
But thanks for the download of their catolog. They do have a lot of goodies that may come in handy in the future.
I'll try for a little longer to find the stuff and if no progress I'll just buy some strips of aluminum and start milling away. I've just been trying to avoid doing the work myself. I got a quote of around $456 per 20 foot from Rig-Rite but they keep putting me off. I really don't think they had the stuff to start with.
Doc Freemans is just down the road but don't carry much used stuff anymore, space has become so valuable these days.
I'll try Sailorman.

Back to the search..........................DelmarRey......... ....._/)

If you type the Go words 'merriman-holbrook' and hit 'enter', you'll get about a dozen hits. Maybe a little research among them might turn up something useful.

Toe rail/ track

Done that but Thanks, they're out of business.
I've decided to manufacture new ones myself. And since I have to do that I might as well make them from stainless steel. But I'll wait until this winter after the sailing season.............._/)

Merriman-Holbrook

The websites I referred to are retailers and surplus dealers who list Merriman-Holbrook items among their inventory.

Re: Toe rail/T-track search

Crest Aluminium Products in Dublin, Ohio makes an aftermarket Merriman 7440 toe rail that is not available anywhere else that I can find. It fits my Mirage.

Re: Toe Rail / T-Track Search

WOW!! This is really an old thread. Since then I have pulled off all the aluminum toerail and sealed (glassed over) the hull/deck joint with a cap rail also glassed over.
