repositioning 4.108 drill new holes for motor mounts

Hi
I am repowering my 33 Morgan OI where it sits in the Bahamas at anchor. I wil be repowering with another 4.108 like the one I removed but it has a Hurth trans instead of a velvet drive. The original V-drive is still aboard but the 4.108 I have does not have the fittings for the oil cooler that the Velvet drive needs. I will have to reposition the motor to make it fit and this will require drilling new holes in the fiberglass. My question is, do I need to use any kind of an epoxy to screw the bolts into or do I just drill the pilot hole a bit smaller and make the screws go in? thanks

Most are through bolted and not lag bolted. Drill through the mounting bracket and the stringer and size the hole accordingly. You will eventually need/want to replace them so I wouldn’t epoxy them in place.

Depending on your long range cruising plans, you will be much better off to adapt for the Velvet Drive oil cooler. You will be lucky to get 1,500 hours on the Hurth. Check Foley Marine.
This is from a person who has been rebuilding marine transmissions 50 years.
