Hi guys, first post here.
I'm a proud new owner of a Van De Statd Pion 30. I've been excitedly preparing her to be splashed soon.
One thing I noticed was the through
hull valve for the blackwater outlet was a little stiff. I pulled it out and it was full of mud (maybe some other things there too

)
Once it was out I thought I'd look into replacing it and I found that the type of valve they used is for (looks like heavy) industrial purpose and not specifically
marine.
I'm just wondering if it would be best to replace it with a specific
marine valve? Looks like I would have to replace the through
hull fitting also as the thread doesnt match anything on the marine market...
It's in fine condition and turning nicely now that I've cleaned it, and
corrosion isn't an issue as it is plastic.
