Re: Repairing deck gellcoat stress cracks

No question. Boaters get gouged all the time. A couple days ago I needed 3 5"x 1/2" bolts with nuts to reattach my bobstay. A certain well known purveyor of boat hardware would sell me bolts only for around $25 USD EACH. A local fastener shop sold me all three with nuts and washer for $20.

For cleaning supplies, solvents and such I will go to the local building supply or grocery store. It takes a while, mostly by word of mouth, but there are some good products out there. Even for marine products a little shopping pays. A 16 oz can of McLube is about $28 at West Marine, $16 at Sears and $13 at another marine store

It pays to check with others and shop. !!

My experience with boat repair has been that rarely is anything "magic" or "easy". Though when it does happen, it's beautiful!

I must admit, I've never personally applied ME or Creeping Crack Cure, but I have seen the results of both several times on clients boats. Usually when they were paying me to fix it right.
