I'm
posting on behalf of a buddy who is searching for his first
boat so I apologize in advance if I don't have answers to some of the questions that may come.
He's looking at a
boat up here in
Canada and the
broker has been forthcoming in disclosing that the boat was caught in a
hurricane is the states and required extensive
hull repairs. A 2015
survey is available.
So the question is why is the boat up here
for sale now. My friend thinks it may be similar to automobiles where an automobile that was written off/salvaged in the states can not be resold in the states so that's why it's here now.
So is anyone aware of any laws like that? I know most would recommend against
buying the boat but if the
repairs were well done and the
price is right it may be worth it? Or are we crazy
