Help with Hood Main furling

I have a Hood Main Boom Roller Furling system. It is not in-boom but the main rolls around a round boom above a full length square boom section to which the vang is attached. The furling winch is built into the mast, There is a "C" shaped device halfway along presumably to prevent the boom bending upwards under load. I have removed it as it fouls the battens. Does anyone have any info, manuals on this type? as I can't identify it.
