An auto-body shop where I get sandpaper cheaply has a guide-coat duster. Just some very fine black powder with a powder puff. Made by 3M.

Yes, that is the $75 product. The best, but if you need it only once for a small job… I used pencil

In farm country, graphite powder can be had as a seed lubricant for farm machinery. 7$ US a pound. Some companies cut theirs with talc and sometimes it is marked up and marketed as an additive or slip plate lubricant or dry lube for locks, etc. . I use the 100% graphite type for metalcasting work to keep patterns from sticking in oil-bonded sand. You would need to figure out a dauber and a little goes a l-o-n-g way.
