Styrene at 5% is what is used to thin gel coat. Styrene wax has 5% paraffin ( wax) dissolved into it to act as an air barrier. Floats to the top.
If you are going to use acetone and other solvents, please remember to keep away from any ignition source. Doesn’t take much acetone to cause a nice explosion.
