Re: Best Material for Dodger Windows?

We went with Makrolon AR. This is the double sided AR (abrasion resistant) and have been extremely happy though we do not fold our dodger nor do we intend to. The clarity is damn close to that of real glass and it has held up extremely well thus far....

If you want to fold or roll it is tough to beat Strataglass..

Re: Best Material for Dodger Windows?

Maine Sail - that's an impressive dodger! Very interested in this Makrolon material for the dodger windows on Toodle-oo! We only take the dodger down for the winter - presumably that would be OK as far as the windows are concerned?

Curious to know if your corner windows could have been made as a single panel - would the Makrolon have sufficient flexibility to go around that curve?

What thickness did you use? - so far the thinnest AR I can find is .118" - probably too thick to sew... How are your windows attached to the Canvas - sewn or glued?

Where do you buy this stuff?

Did you make or buy that fancy dodger?

The glass is sewed in and the dodger was made by Richard Hallett of Hallett Canvas & Sails in Falmouth, ME.. I would guess the glass could wrap but I wanted a California style dodger with removable side curtains...
