Awlgrip HDT anyone?

I know it’s a new paint but from reading about it, it seems to be safe to spray even for DIY.

Has anyone used it yet?

Not me, but my boat just went on the hard and I'm going to follow your post, Liam.

If the response stays like this I’ll be rolling and tipping again... saves me $1.3k for a turbine hvlp sprayer

Re: Awlgrip HDT anyone?

Is this for your hull? Did you see the suggested lay up of the different primers and fillers before you get to the HDT paint? https://international.brand.akzonobe...ngle-EU_LR.pdf
At least this one is "repairable" vs. the previous Awlgrip.
Would ask if the HDT is more resistant than the reg. Awlgrip to petroleum products (jet fuel), etc. that may fall out of the air as pollution. We had pockmarks from pollution landing on the paint. We never knew/read this was a possibility before we painted. When we discussed this with them they offered us new paint to redo the whole job.

I'd probably look at Imron to paint the topsides.

That’s the same as for their other topcoats. I still believe original Awlgrip topcoat is the best durability available, far ahead of a product like Imron. Repair ability comes with weaker finish. I’m not a fan of Awlcraft 2000 but now there’s HDT clear topcoat for that as well...

Safe to spray how? With pressured air supply? Without it, any aerosol droplets you breathe in will be painting your insides too. We Awlgripped our deck last summer with felt rollers (they don't disintegrate) and grit in the paint. No tipping. Looks really good.

Awlgrip HDT is a different product.

Yes my boat has been sprayed with it.

Re-Spray and re-Coppercoat again

Re: Awlgrip HDT anyone?

Alexseal has their new additive for roll & tip, except you don't need to tip. It lays down without bubbles beautifully.
Alexseal finish is tough, and repairable.
