Anti-Fouling Paint
It's that time again. I have a 27' sloop that is ready for a fresh bottom job. My boat yard guy is recomending petit "Trinidad", but, the october issue of practical sailor gave the signifigantly cheaper pettit "unepoxy plus "a higher rating over 12mts in s. fla. Any comments out there for a gulf of mex. hard bottom paint?

I'm just north of Tampa and I use Seahawk paint. I believe its Monterey a hard ablative. Their website lists their Tropicote as the equivalent of Trinidad. I get about 2 - 2.5 years out of a bottom job.

I have used supershipbottom paint on 5 boats for customers and they all love it, no slime, no barnies. I have used it for going on 10 years. $130 gallon, shipped usps to your door from Fort Myers. Harder ablative can be hauled out and relaunched even months later.

For my money, there is no better all-around anti fouling paint than Trinidad.

how much is gallon of Trinidad ? and remember is conventional hard paint that means you have to clean every two or 3 weeks depends were you are, and make your boat heavy and unstable, because when you have product with to much cuprous oxide if you don't stir the paint well before apply that happens.

Well, what you said was that not mixing your anti fouling paint well will make your boat unstable. You claim to be a marine industry professional; I'd like you to explain that statement.
