Why remove it? Most fuel/tank polishing companies clean tanks in place and are all set up for that. No inspection plate? It should be easy to do in place. Removing it and re-installing it will be way more work than cleaning it.

Absolutely. If you can reach the tank at all, even awkwardly, it will be much easier to clean the tank in place than trying to remove it.
If the tank does not have a cleaning/inspection port on top you can make one but I have cleaned my diesel tank by going in through the gauge hole which is about 1.5" diameter.

To remove the tank you have to remove the engine and the medal straps holding it in place and disconnect all the fuel lines and vent. I only removed mine when i replace the engine(a 30 yr old Perkins).
Find a fuel polisher in your area. As someone else said the Monel tank is the best you could find anywhere.
