Just a follow up to see if you had a chance to look at your 4JH3-TE's jabsco oil change pump's plumbing and how it's set up. I'm still pretty much in the dark on how to do this one...

Thanks for any info...

Re: Where's the oil drain bolt on the Yanmar 4JH3-TE?

as an aside here, if you have a sense of humor/ love of the ridiculous / real wish to ruin your engine then just block off the crankcase breather and stand back while you run it, in time it'll eject the dipstick and ALL the oil out the dipstick tube due to ever increasing crankcase pressure from the oil pump regulator /relief valve..... how do I know this....

I should be able to get to it this coming week. Weather has not been cooperating here!

Re: Where's the oil drain bolt on the Yanmar 4JH3-TE?

I finally had a chance to check the plumbing. The view of the connection at the oil pan is blocked by the transmission cooler line. I can tell that the connection is not at the dip stick. It is at the flywheel end of the oil pan. The engine is a 2005 4JH3-TE in a Tartan 4400. Sorry I wasn’t able to take a photo or see the fitting with a mirror.
I think if I had to change the hose, I’d have to pull the gearbox.

Thanks Mike. I have since discovered there looks to be a bolt on the opposite side of the pan from the dipstick's banjo bolt. If I can reach it I am going to see if backing it out results in the oil coming out. It "looks" like it might be what I need...but one never knows...
Thanks again for your efforts...
Martin
