Here’s a little tale for MD7 owners.

The decompression lever has a screw on its shaft inside the valve cover. The screw has a tear that sits in an indent and limits the decompression lever to 90° rotation. Mine worked loose and fell out the other night. I saw sailing and had the engine running just to charge the batteries, consequently I was below and heard the flatter of the screw being bounced around inside the valve cover. Ince I took the cover off the problem was immediately evident. Luckily for me the screw had fallen into a cavity from which it could be rescued.

IF YOUR DECOMPRESSION LEVER TURNS MORE THAN 90° OR RESTS ON THE HP FUEL LINE THEN THIS SCREW IS LOOSE.
