Mercury 8 hp carb replacement , 4 cyl, handle

I need to replace my carb and was hoping to get a less expensive 3rd party unit but I can find one. New from a dealer is 3-4x my budget. Has anyone come up with any alternatives for engine Serial # 0R672500. Mine seems to have some very fine pin holes which spritz fuel droplets a few feet when I try to start it.

I notice my carb model 895111T01 is very similar to illustrations of the same with 111 replaced by a 110 which I believe is the 9.9 hp carb. Mine has been super-ceded by 895111T05 then 8M0104461 then 8M0174373. Would a carb from a 9.9 fit and work?
