Re: M35B alternator bracket bolt "leaks" coolant

To close the loop on this thread if people find it later, I went with the mantra "if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing"
  • To secure the new Balmar adjustment arm to the engine using the two bolts per the original design, a welder friend lopped off the end of the Balmar arm and welded it into the same location as the lower hole in the original arm.
  • I used slightly longer bolts to accommodate the increased thickness of the new arm, and heavy-duty washers.
  • As for the leak, it seems to have stopped now that the bolt is fastened securely, but time will tell if it returns after running for a while.

So far, the alternator is running pretty well at the 80% BLM setting.
