Accessory mount Volvo Penta 2003

I’m still looking for the accessory plate/mount for my VP2003. I’m looking for a way to mount a reefer compressor....need compressor also. Thanks.

Re: Accessory mount Volvo Penta 2003

Well, you’re just about asking the impossible......the engine has been out of production for about 30 years and the part you want was super low production to begin with. So you might try this: Go online to “marinepartseurope”, the European VP online parts store, and click on the parts listing for the 2001,2002,etc. models. Scroll all the way down past all the engine bits until you come to the “miscellaneous parts” section, and in there you will find something labeled “compressor mounting bracket”. Open that page and you can get an idea of what that bracket looked like. It was a complicated piece, and it’s long out of production, but maybe that will give you an idea if you want to have one built.

Check with Seafrost. You will also need the add-on pulley.

Engine driven refrigeration is pretty much obsolete. Is there a reason why you want one? By the time you source brackets and compressor you are close to a pretty decent 12v system.

Re: Accessory mount Volvo Penta 2003

Thanks everyone for the replies. I do have the Seafrost 120v option already installed but during the overhaul the mounting plate was lost during the move along with the compressor. I do understand that the engine along with the plate have long been obsolete. I wouldn’t have any issue fabricating it but if there was one shoved back in the scrap pile somewhere it definitely would be easier. I do appreciate everyone’s opinion though.

Re: Accessory mount Volvo Penta 2003

Do you have a raw water cooled 2003 engine or fresh water cooled?

If it's raw water cooled, how about using fresh water cooled brackets which do appear for sale as these engines are scrapped.
