Small cabin cats

I would like to know about a list of small catamarans that have a cabin, like the Hirondelle 23. I'm not interested in any of the racers that have hoods over the hulls.
Thank you,
Mark

Re: Small cabin cats

Define small for us.

Not many below 25ft. The only other one I can think of is Heavenly Twins.

Bump up to around 35ft and your options open up:
- Endeavor
- Catalac
- Gemini
- Prout
- Adventura
- PDQ
- etc... (several others, these were just off the top of my head)

Depends what your use is and if you want new or used.

I'm a long-time small multihull lover, and the math for a cabin just does not work below 30'. Either go mono, F-boat, or a cat where you live in the hulls.

If you want a multihull, look at trimarans below 30'. There are many (I have an F-24).

Heavenly Twins (26 and later 28ft) is what you want if you can stretch to 26ft. They'll go anywhere (slowly) some have circumnavigated. Lot of space in the stern cabins and great protected centre cockpit. I've never sailed one but my first ever catamaran sail was a long weekend above the big brother Star Twins 34. Good boat.

Don't know where you are based but here's a really cheap 26 Twin... https://www.newsnow.co.uk/classified...-for-sale.html

Re: Small cabin cats

This is a very tall order and an expensive "size" for production builders.

Back in the 90's a British builder produced a very nice 24 pocket cat with a cabin, that looked modern and was of high quality. Will try to remember the name but only a few (perhaps one) made.

Shuttleworth designed an 8m (26ft) with good accommodation Cheetah

What is the reason for the 24ft limit?

Most don't have a cabin and most are larger.

I'm still kind of curious regarding the need to go so small. While they can technically call it a cabin, it's more of tiny hole to shimmy into.

Hi rondelle is the only UK built one with a central cabin, after that it's either a Twins or a Catalac 8m..
You could do what I did and get a Tiki 21 and make an aero dynamic sprayhood as opposed to the boxy things many fashion.. shelter fro bow spray while sailing and deep enough to sleep under for overnight stops... chemical toilet in one hull and small stove in the other.
For longer stops I had a quick assembly dome tent, drop the sprayhood and pitch it on the deck.. excellent arrangement.
Sleeping in the hull is like sleeping in a coffin..

Did not know Solaris went that small.. well spotted..
But £30K is a bit steep, a Tiki 21 is around £4 to 5K.. and will/can do 11kts+..

Re: Small cabin cats

I am interested in a very small cat because I will only be day sailing on her but need privacy for a a head. Django37's post is very interesting. I really like the Hirondelles. Part of reason for small is to possibly trailer it or build roller ramps on the shore to pull her up out of the water. For this I need non keeled hulls. I know this is sailing on a shoestring but I have a 19 foot hard deck beach cat now that I love but I need the head now.

That was the beauty of my Tiki 21, I could steer while I dumped and no one was the wiser..
