“No survey” doesn’t mean the boat has never been surveyed in 33 years, it means that a survey was not required by the insurer to renew an existing policy. Earlier posts alluded to not needing one being an advantage, actually it’s quite normal. At least it is in my world.

I’m not sure how many boat owners have surveys routinely carried out on their vessels (other than when buying/selling) but I’d wager it’s very few. My confidence in the on-going seaworthiness and good physical condition of my boat is all I need. IMO, most surveys aim to pinpoint minor irregularities to be used by potential buyers to reduce the asking price.

BTW, who/what is E.W? The parenthesis implies it is aimed at derision, if so it was lost on me. My insurance is (as are most) underwritten by Lloyds.

Most Marine Insurance policies are NOT written by Lloyds. In fact, "Lloyds" does not write policies, Lloyds is a marketplace in the UK where your purchase a policy. https://www.lloyds.com/about-lloyds If you do have what is commonly reffered to as "LLoyds Policy" what you acutally have is a policy underwritten by one of the many Lloyds Syndicates. Your policy should list the Syndicate number. If your Lloyds policy does not list a Syndicate number you need to investigate further.
