You missed the point. I was responding to the picture you sent.

And I guess you don't have much to do besides clipping your toe nails since you are stuck on your boat at that anchorage

As far as getting old, as long as you can do what you've always done in life it isn't that bad. Its better in some ways than when you were young.

I just hope I can slow down enough to enjoy cruising when I'm old enough to retire....at maybe 70 or 75. If I can't maybe I'll go buy an A Class Catamaran and go race again

Started loading the boat yesterday.....got a late start this year due to required crash course in computers, networks, clouds, and mobile phones for certification

A life of total leisure isn't for everyone.

I'm still trying to adjust to being a sailboat cruiser after racing very fast, high performance catamarans for so many years. And before that power boats for fishing and skiing

It's harder than it might seem because cruising is so slow paced, but it has it good points.

Aiming all your solar panels at the sun as it clears the horizon when your battery power is low can be fun

Or motoring home 20 or 30 miles in the am using the autopilot with a 5 hp outboard because there's no wind is relaxing. You can read, watch the Sunrise and the dolphin

Then there's the night sky and the weird night sounds you hear while anchored on the edge of the bay or just in protected water from the Ocean side

28 years is a long time to be doing the same thing though.

I had to get rid of all my boats there for a while and switched to long distance, fast, peloton style cycling, running, and some working out full time while I was still young enough. (early 50's)

But since I got back up here from Florida, I was back in home waters and had been thinking again about a monohull sailboat to play with when I came upon the one I have now. Price tag $2,000.

Just a few dollars more than a new mainsail for one of the beach cats I used to race.

This is tongue in cheek for Thomm and SMJ... I was married to a woman a long time ago. The conversation you two are having reminded me of her so much that I had to giggle. No matter what I would say to her she would find a way to twist it to another way less pleasant. So then I would try and right the boat and rephrase it. She would think about it for a minute and send in her next salvo. You couldn’t extradite yourself no matter what. Fellas... I got say... let it go at this point. Don’t even think about you two getting married to each other. Unless you want/like pain in the ass life.

My wife and I were the same for 21 years of marriage. The arguments never stopped.

Now after 21 years divorced we are friends and get along fine for as long as we are around each other which is when I visit my Mom's old house which I now own.

My ex lives there........which is another reason I plan to cruise when I retire (at least in the Winter months. Head South.......again)
