Attached is a spreadsheet of the Loading specs on a Lagoon 500 ( interpreted from owners manual - a couple of assumptions on crew wt etc ), that takes it from the Lightship displacement to maximum load so approx 5 Ton with crew of 14 aboard. Obviously less crew and more toys can be had.



Next to it I put basic stats of a performance 50ft cat just to see what I would need to give up in order to meet that cat's maximum of 3 Ton.


This is for interest only as I could find nothing else on the internet for such a calculator.

Some quite good assumptions and really highlights problem areas.


I see one is not included in your list but 350kg for a generator shows what a big performance hit this would be.



I would say 960kg for water given there is a water maker in the mix would be unnecessary.


Suppliers and personal is too small IMO a person needs to consume about 2.5kg per day per person. You also have to account for extra days and it is not just what you eat it you need to the natural packaging, banana skins, potato peelings etc and the unnatural, cans, bottles and cartons.


Soap, toothpaste, shampoo, sheets, bedding, weather gear">foul weather gear?



Spare parts and tools seem to have been missed. This makes up a huge percentage of the weight on a cruising boat. Rigorous selection can help like only taking the sockets that you need rather than the whole socket set. Engine spares can be limited on a cat for A-B cruises but need to be included for long term living aboard.
