You need to sail on better cats.
Was never outpointed by a mono on any of the dagger board cats we owned or sailed on.
And while a cat can have space, if you want it to actually perform it can't carry real weight until you start getting up in size, 50+ ft imho.
And even then, depending on hull
shape /disp/ immersion rate still may not be able to carry a decent cruising load and maintain light air performance.
