Same goes for the 6 states. Don’t forget Indiana. State parks friendly ports and clubs. West coast of Mexico and Sea of Cortez is dirt cheap and very friendly.

Too bad some boat haunts and ski hills kill growth with crazy pricing

I knew the Canadian healthcare system was well respected, but the fact y’all are living to 150 years old is absolutely amazing!

Yes out healthcare is out standing there.
Canada was discovered in 1098 when Leif Erickson released the last crow and followed it to land. So even he showed up for the 150th Crossed the North Atlantic early spring dodging icebergs.
So it’s that amazing Canadian Aura eh.
Best we can do is offer the Canadian experience spray. Check with your state smiling laws.

If $500k USD, or whatever currency, is your total, don't spend more than $400k on the boat, and keep 20% in the kitty. If you don't you'll be sorry within the first 2 years...and no...new boats are not much better in that regard.

Good Luck and PM me if you'd like to get aboard in the Caribbean potentially ;-)

60' cat, large family cruising aboard...

You need to sail on better cats.
Was never outpointed by a mono on any of the dagger board cats we owned or sailed on.

And while a cat can have space, if you want it to actually perform it can't carry real weight until you start getting up in size, 50+ ft imho.
And even then, depending on hull shape /disp/ immersion rate still may not be able to carry a decent cruising load and maintain light air performance.

True is probably 140 TWA and TWS is probably 14 or so? We're pulling AWA.

Sure, it's all carbon with a big sail plan. 300 mile days on a Shipman 63 would not be unexpected

300 n miles in a day is moving. Is that a cat.
I get just over 10n pretty regular. Just got a code O.
I wouldn’t attempt an Atlantic crossing without hiring a skipper.
My Grandson and I want to do an ocean race. I said we need to hire a skipper to train us and race leading the crew.
Longest trip we’ve taken is 187n and it took 26,hours.

Sounds like a good speed. In our 39’ cat we would probably do similar speeds with a reefed main and 110% jib. Steady 8-10 and hitting low teens. Now if we weren’t cruise loaded……[emoji848]
