Not a huge difference. You'd only have to average 48 knots to cover 500 miles in 9 hours.

They didn't say what the wind speed was did they? Now we need to see a circumnavicat indurance race with robot crew mostly doing all that cranking. Wonder how it does in the doldrums?

I googled up an article which said 28 knot windspeed, the run was over two years ago......

Yes yes.. There is a certain similarity there. Primarily white, Have rudders Autopilots, booze... Hmm but my boat is missing out on the HOT hostesses. Sigh!
