Beneteau First 42!
Actually my wife's yacht as, after 9/11, she claimed our former yacht was getting old!
I responded that she would one-day appreciate my tendancy to hang on to old things but she didn't seem to get it.
N'any case...Very Fast, Very Seaworthy, Very Seakindly...
Cheers,
s/v HyLyte

I have a fixer upper, some sort of ferrocement boat. The prior owner believed it was a Samson design, possibly from Canada. He measured it as 48' LOD and 51' LOA. Unfortunately Hartley boats, which sells plans for Samson ferros only shows plans for a 45 C-Deuce, a 45 C-Breeze or a 53 Sea Lord. I believe the Sealord is too big, and the other two are center cockpit designs, while mine is a rear cockpit ketch with bermudian sails. So truthfully I am still trying to figure out what I have.
It is old (1978), and requires refurbishment (also the interior cabin was never finished). It has what I believe to be a BMC 2.52L 4 cylinder diesel marinized by Thornycroft (posibly 60 hp) which does not run at the moment.
The boat is currently moored of Sausalito in a spot where I recently found out it touches and rests at the bottom on low tide.
I am having some fun pulling things out and seeing how everything works. I hope to get the engine running and the tiller reconnected to the rudder by next spring.

Rover design
We have a Merritt Walter design - the Bonny IV Rover. She is a 40 foot steel sailboat with 1920's styling - plum stem, rounded stern, and very shoal draft. Sometimes we take the rig out and cruise her on the ICW as a trawler but we prefer sailing. We are currently exploring the St. John's River in Florida.

Looking for a Tahiti Rover
Back in the day I had a 23' Pearson Elektra, 14' Capri, Sunfish, 12' Blue Water, 23' Compac. But what I really really want is a Merritt Walter designed Tahiti Rover. Anyone know of one laying around unappreciated?
I've attached a photo of the Pearson on Biscayne Bay back in the 70's. Sure had a lot of fun with her.
