My book about second-hand sailing yachts says that the Dufour
1800 is strongly built and ages well. It is lively and pleasant to helm
in light winds. It is a bit tender
in stronger winds but remains effective when close-hauled, not so much downwind.
The performance depends on the appendages: deep draught, shallow draught or centreboard.
About 1200 were built in 3 years from 1979 to 1982, not bad for that time.
