You want to attract chicks? Or keep one? To attract chicks save your money, spend it in the bars ashore. The boat won't matter. It will be dark, it will be late, judgement will be lost. Event the Tayana will work.

I am starting with a woman. I don't know how long she will last. (does anyone). I keep hearing Cave and dark and sea sick. I suspect I will have to look for a new gal sooner or later. Just want to make it easy on myself. Looks count with women!!! It makes a huge difference when a woman sees your car or house for the first time. If they are nice enough, it can be hard to get rid of her! It's all about cash flow. I like "coastal cruisers" layouts and design a lot more. They look clean and new and big.

I settled on a little Com-Pac 35 with the same aspiration and she hasn't been far from the home marina yet. I must say there are a bunch more women on the Bertram and Hatteras near me but they'll never get very far from the marina.

Geez now i'm depressed. After 3 years of research, walking docks, crawling around in boats, and scrolling thru online brokerages I have come to the conclusion that its a Tayana 37, HC38, or something very much like them that I have to have. Never thought about the "chic appeal".

There's a 2005 Beneteau Oceanis 343 for $65k in the BVIs on Yachtworld (YW# 1469-2471605) and a similar boat ex charter for $59k (YW# 77108-2402007).

One of those or something similar would be big enough for two and small enough to single hand to Florida if necessary.

If you stuck round the Virgins for a while your relationship would have a better chance of holding and you could get the experience and equipment necessary to bring the boat back safely.

Depends.... If she's the type that likes to watch you sand, varnish, dust in the galley, caulk etc... maybe those boats are perfect!

If I ever make it to the Keys, you can buy my boat for 10k. Its a creepy oldman's boat though. Why spend 90k for a boat and find out you dont like it? Spend 10k for mine, then if ya like it, sell it and get a bigger more expensive one. IF you dont like it, sell it an go home. That's my plan so far...lol
