New England going South

Looking for some recommendations on boats. Sailing from New England down the coast to VA then over to Bahamas and continuing on to the rest of the Caribbean this Fall. With a limited budget 10k-15k I know it is going to be older but still should be plenty of reliable sound boats still out there for sale but most seem to be coastal cruisers. Need something that can be used to live aboard for a couple so thinking 28’-32’ range. After lots of research still getting lots of conflicting advice from everyone. Is an Endeavor 30 with a shoal draft to risky or should I be looking more in the range of an older full keel Pearson Vangaurd?
