Joubert Cape Barren Goose

Hello
Anyone have any experience with the Joubert Cape Barren Goose?
Looking for any common issues and comments on sailing performance.
This Goose was built in 1978 and looks in very good condition for her age.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Re: Joubert Cape Barren Goose

There’s a forum member here who has one (I think that’s what he has.) I’ll let him know you are asking.

Damn nice boat I reckon. Lovely lines. But I haven’t sailed with him yet.

Stand by, I’ll see if I can rustle him out.

Re: Joubert Cape Barren Goose

Hello GILow
Thank you
I saw her for the first time today and she has a great feel and thus the questions.
Apparently there were only 10 built.
Regards
Brian

Brian, CF member "Ambler" has a Goose. You might try sending him a PM. He has made many modifications to his boat and is quite knowledgeable about her.

Good luck,

Jim

Bjp I surveyed a Joubert Magpie and she had a list of faults longer than my arm. She was a badly neglected dock queen.
Cheers

Goes with any boat, they all require care and maintenance. The builder has a lot to do with the life expectancy too.

Note the frames and stringers in the forepeak! Along with the solid fibreglass construction she is worthy of an icey NW Passage voyage.

My Baker built Cape Barren Goose "Ambler" is on track to outlasting my lifetime of custodianship. She is 49 years young and still as strong as the day she was launched.
