Jeff Bezo's Sailing Superyacht "Koru" sets sail.

Aquijo has masts taller- it's reported to be the largest ketch ever built and has 90 meter masts- so tall she can't go under the bridge of America's in Panama.
Bezo's boat masts are 70 meters tall. She (Aquijo) was at the dock in Antiqua when we were there in 2020. The boom must have been 30 ft above the deck. When the upper part of the mainsail was damaged they had to hire a crane to remove the mainsail.

Let's set aside the physics of constructing the pyramids (and other "ancient" wonders as well). I will say that, so far as I know, there was likely not a fraudulent financial system in place at that time.

I too have struggled to accept the term “Green” when it’s used in a superyacht context, how can a ship this size ....for the sole use of one man and the missus be in any way environmentally sensible? Even worse is that it travels with a support vessel that carries the helicopter and the water toys. I’d be more interested if Koru was using electric motors for propulsion and running off a huge bank of Tesla batteries or some newly developed capacitor technology, we could all benefit from research into that level of alternative power solutions.

Is your 30' sailboat greener than Bezos'. Nope they are both big pieces of plastic, metal, and wasted energy so the two of you could enjoy a day or two on the water.
Accept it, determine to make your footprint as small as you are comfortable with, and cut out the holier than thou crap cuz it sure does stink.

I'd say it's swamped. For the record, I have concluded that industrialization was a huge misstep. Nothing to be done at this point, but claiming that Bezos's boat or anything about him is "green" is laughably absurd.

Let us be clear. Are you saying a 30 foot plastic sailboat with auxillary electric propulsion that is used to "cruise" is "green"?

Is it more "green" if it is yours?
Of course if it is within finances it would be a 50 footer.
