Islander 30 Mk2

There is one for sale near me for under $10K. It looks interesting, but I can't find much information about the boat on the internet.

Can anyone tell anything about the boat? In particular any known problems to look for.

Are you serious such boats go for 10k? Looks very expensive by EU side of the pond standards ...

Or was Islander such a great quality built?

Re: Islander 30 Mk2

That sail data sheet just about the only thing I can find about the boat except some photos.

This boat would go for $6,000. But near as I can tell from my research if your budget is $10,000 you are pretty much going to get a boat from the late 1970's

I am surprised how little I can find on the internet about this boat. I want to find out what I can about this boat.

Re: Islander 30 Mk2

Because they were made here they are fairly common in S. Calif., build quality was variable by year as the manufacture went thru various permutations including even a diy kit form. Did you notice the history page for the builder ?

30' for $6000 makes me suspect the worst.
