Charleston SC to Beaufort, SC Monohull

I am looking at buying a 28 foot Monohull in the Charleston area. Since I want to stay on the boat for about 2 months after purchase to get familiar with it and since I do not live nearby, I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a marina in the Charleston SC to Beaufort SC area that could accommodate me?

Any other advice on where to keep the boat in that region would be also good.

Thank you, kindly!

I have heard that Charleston has two good places, 1 is the semi resort for upscale life, the other is the docks (you are in downtown as you step off). Key there is what you want for amenities. I am looking at maybe doing a month there this winter at the resort.

Thanks. This is very interesting. Do you mind telling me what the cost is for a month at either place?

Wish I could, the resort transient table rates gets a 404, I assume the docs are cheaper.

Rates tend to go by foot, so direct contact is best.

I work from the concept that you get what you pay for, nicer $$$ just ok $.

Some of the things you need to factor in are Power (if you need it), pump out, easy access to supplies, bathrooms, laundry, showers, water and boat shops.

Those are the things that tend to push me one place or another.

Oh I do know. I was wondering if you got pricing already. I tried and could not get simple answers from the various marinas. They all seem to want you to own the boat already.

I had a 40 foot trawler for 3 years and I have owned other boats. I am familiar with amenities. I just don't live down there yet (andI don't even own the boat I am looking at) and was just hoping to get some info ahead of time.

When I have bought boats in the past one of the first things I did was recon into local places where I could keep the boat, and costs, and the really big one--availability!
