C&C 24 Value

Any opinions on the value of C&C 24? It has an old outboard but the sails and gelcoat interior are all good. Thanks

Are the decks dry or saturated?

Sails? Running lines?

Re: C&C 24 Value

I can't comment on the boat you're looking at specifically, but I have a C&C 24 and it's a great little boat. Sailing close hauled in 2 meter waves will amount to some bashing, but generally she's nimble, fast to turn through the wind and a pile of fun for going for 2-3 day trips... just watch your noggin inside the cabin

Re: C&C 24 Value

Just clicking on C&C 24 gives a range of USD$1,000 to $5,800.

A lot depends on location & condition.

Yes, watch your noggin ! I had one too, and I think that's why I ended up selling her. Lol. But, I do remember that boat sailed great, you will definitely enjoy her.

Re: C&C 24 Value

Re-read Apollo's post (#7) and make an offer accordingly. The high price he suggests would be for a boat in really good condition. If they don't sell it now they're going to have to pay for hauling and
winter storage. If you buy it now, YOU pay for the storage. Include that in your cost analysis.

Re: C&C 24 Value

10K seems very high. I bought a 1974 C&C 25 in nice condition in 2002 for 5.5K.

What would make it a little more valuable are a new and complete set of sails, new standing rigging and new cabin cushions.

Typically, these are original in this size of boat, not in good condition and cost $$ to replace. If that's so, the boat not worth anywhere near 10K.

Re: C&C 24 Value

Thanks for the replies! We did end up purchasing the boat for a bit under the asking price. Its a 1983 but was fresh wster most of its life. The sails are new and rigging lifelines all new. Inside is like new and drcks etc only have a bit of stress cracking. My wife loved it and we look forward to seeing how she sails.
