Hee, hee....

I didn't post an ad or such, I kinda reluctantly agreed to crew on a friends boat in a silly "race" to a popular watering spot. I found Ann there as a fellow crew member. Quickly pinched her away from him and here we are, nearly 40 years later, still together. It's good, for some days she lets me steer if I'm not busy fixing the head.

Seriously, the chances of finding a life partner via a post on CF are pretty slim, but that's not to say that good opportunities don't come up here. If one does the proper vetting after introduction, the chances for disaster are not so dismal, and happy voyaging is frequently reported from such "hookups", even if permanence is not there.

So, lets hope that Skip finds suitable crew and that they have a great cruise. What happens next will be revealed later, and is beyond the purview of this thread IMO.

What would the crew duties be? What type of boating experience is required? Would the crew be asked to participate financially? What is the skipper's boating resume? These are certainly aspects to be up front about. And maybe any hobbies like gardening, perhaps mowing the lawn, so you know how you are going to get on together.

Skip- Don't worry about it. Some people live in a paranoid bubble. Welcome. Hope you find a good female crew. BTW, I'm a 62 year old male who's sailed 40+ years with both male and female crews and there's something good to be said about both, but I've always got along better with women more than men. Ewwwww gross....
