Are you sailing the South Pacific this year? What route are you planning?

Hey everyone!

Keen to hear from cruisers sailing the South Pacific this sailing season. What route are you planning?

Gold Coast to New Caledonia, Vanuatu & Bay of Islands New Zealand for the cyclone season.

We are not done yet with the Society Islands and Tuamotus and intend to spend 3 months exploring these islands starting in August. We might leave the boat there again or sail to NZ via Niue, Fiji, Tonga, etc. Much will depend on weather.

That's a great route! We sailed a similar route last year from QLD to New Cal, Vanuatu then continued to Fiji, Tonga, Niue and French Polynesia.

We're in the Society Islands right now! We did Niue, Fiji and Tonga but west to east (started in Sydney). In a way it makes it a lot easier when the weather decides for us! August usually has strong trades all around.

Thanks for the info. We left the boat in Papeete last July and have been in Vancouver for much of the time since then. Family reasons will keep us from getting back there until August. Delighted to know that we can look forward to some good wind!

Fair winds for the next leg of your voyage!
