Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
Anyone have any recommendations for a good outfit to replace the standing rigging on a 36' boat?
Looking for someone in Northern Washington area--Seattle, Anacortes, Bellingham, etc.

Brian Toss is the best known. In fact he wrote the book, literally. His shop is in Port Townsend.

Re: Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
We had Bryon perform a rigging inspection prior to purchasing our new to us ketch in 2014. We had him subsequently tune it as well.
He is a pleasure to work with, as is Carol Hasse [Port Townsend Sails] next door to Bryon.
We would travel a thousand miles to do business with both again...
FWIW
Cheers! Bill

Just an idea. Get with a competent rigger and do the work yourself. Besides mast pulling and tuning, I went from total ignorance to knowing everything about my rig.

I have the same question but for the east or west coast of Florida. Any recommendations?

Brion Toss is certainly a good choice. I have used Chris Tutmark for about 15 years and have found him to be highly professional, fairly priced, and very easy to work with. Chris is in seattle and I recommend him without reservation. You should find his particulars under Tutmark Rigging or feel free to pm me for his contact information.

Re: Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
Had some work done by Northwest Rigging out of Anacortes (they can do in their yard, in the water in Anacortes or for us they did in the water in Bellingham charging 1 way travel time) and was very happy with the work done.
I worked with Kent, so you can ask for him, he was very good and very helpful/informative in answering other questions we had.

Re: Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
Wow - love to see friends in the PNW getting recommendations!
Brian Toss is amazing. He has an amazing gift for explaining how rigging works! Hal Thesen is a good friend from my days as a sailing instructor at San Juan Sailing! I am sure he would be great! I have also had good experiences with the folks at Port Townsend Rigging.
We are looking forward to being back in the PNW again this fall!

+1 for Chris Tutmark. Did our survey and has done several other things for us at a very reasonable cost.
Your selection may be more based on exactly where you are or will be. Port Townsend, Anacortes, and Seattle are all about a day away from each other, and like others have said, it's good to be there to help or at least watch and understand what they are doing.

Re: Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
I second NW Rigging out of Anacortes. Just went to a seminar given by Andy of NW Rigging. Very knowledgeable, 30+ years experience. He is going to help me pull mast, and replace rigging at DIY yard. He came highly recommended. Doesn't mind helping us DIYer's. I think he has 7 or 8 other employees.

Re: Yacht Rigger recommendation in WA State?
I would suggest Brion Toss as he is an educator, a craftsman and hard worker. He will usually want you to do as much work yourself so you to learn but if you cant' he will supervise one his experts to do the work as required. He is a definite hands on tradesman and helluva nice guy to boot. And not any more expensive than the rest of them.
If you stay in Port Hudson he will bicycle over to see what has to be done. There is even a few hour grace period at the marina (space permitting) for him or other tradesmen to do the work on your boat.
Can't recommend him enough.
