Ah yes, the one that got away!
We had a small anchor out when me and my teenage buddy were out
fishing from a canoe in
Minnesota. When we wanted to move, our anchor was hung up. We pulled ourselves by the meager (1/4"?) anchor line over to where we were hung up. As we pulled on the line in 3 feet of
water, we could see the bow of an old runabout rising slowly; it was green, as I
recall, including the windshield.
Armed some rudimentary knowledge of why and how we were snagged, we pulled from the opposite side and got our anchor back. It is likely that the runabout still sits in the muck.
And when the tornado came through town, it picked up two houses and tossed 'em into the lake. For a few days, you could land a two story bungelow with the right tackle.
I'd rather have the Bruce.
