Last Spring I stripped all of the bright work
on the exterior of my Bristol 31 and applied Semco instead of varnish
. Initially, I was very pleased with the results. It was easy to apply (2 coats) and provided a nice natural finish. Over the course of the Summer (Northeast) it bleached out in spots and didn't look so good at that point. I know that it needs to be reapplied annually (more in Southern waters) but I'm considering going back to varnish
. I'm planning on returning to an alkyd (Cetol) and my question is whether going over the Semco with varnish will create any problems. Would appreciate any advice
. Can't imagine I'm the only one to have gone thru this.
