Nothing compares in beauty and style.

Is that not the point?
Your entitled to that viewpoint.
Unless it contradicts someone with power to have your head cut off.

No such thing as an ugly woman; no such thing as an ugly boat.

Regarding cars it's my understanding that a lot of classic American cars have made their way to Europe & Australia. A lot of classic American sailboats have been imported as well. Personally I'm not a huge fan of classic American cars. I much prefer European.

These cars are not real fun to drive, are great to look at, sound great, and a lot of them end up offshore. Not safe in a crash. More of a space taking hobby that I'm getting out of, a boat has much more utility, plus they are prettier at anchor

Have the Brits figured out yet how to engineer a car engine that doesn't leak oil? Seems that most of the world is driving Japanese and Korean cars. Maybe we should start discussing Japanese and Korean yacht design vs European designs.

I would suggest that you increase your expectations however if you keep them low as you seem to profess you will be a happy man..

Re: Some yachts are plain ugly and some beautiful, why and does it matter?
Its a funny thing about beauty.
To my eyes, the MacGregor 65 on the water looks about as sleek and beautiful as a boat can get.
I didnt even mind the sparse interior.
It is a beautiful thing to behold. Unfortunately for those that know, Build quality is variable.
But it is beautiful.

When I read these three quotes, this is the picture that popped up in my mind.

Boat: So many boats to choose from. Would prefer something that is not an AWB, and that is beachable...

I believe this was built to transport American Soldiers during WW II, so maybe that's why. But this is of course a wooden car body. This is not a metal car body with wood veneer (or even fake wood) added. Several horrible examples of that exist.
Brings us back to the Amel: I can understand perfectly the desire for not having teak. But there is no case for fake teak.

What about all the fake teak floors you see in the French and German interiors?

Looks good from 20 feet away, not so good when you get closer!
