Even though you are excused for not understanding the origin and meaning of Dutch expressions, the “apart” piece of the word is in regular use in your language and of similar meaning. The word “apartheid” does not have anything racial included but it does go beyond discrimination: it defines segregation, division of the people based on something. In South Africa it was race, in my v2 definition it is vaccination.

Just because the Boers used the word there, doesn't mean that it is just meant for blacks and whites. Now it is correct to use it for "vaccine differences" in people.
I myself was VERY MUCH against being vaccinated at all, coming from almost zero cases China to infected Denmark 3 months ago, but I had to, as I brought my daughter here - she had to attend preschool.
I took a one-shot Johnson, to be cleared 2 weeks after.

Another topic - in these times, why does no one care about the continued use of GOF (Gain Of Function) that caused all this covid ?
It is now very clear, that this virus is man made.
But they still continue to do these experiments in China (and perhaps other places too).
GOF was/is supported by US.
I don't know why...
It made my life a hell, and still is.
I am lamed in my life.

I am lucky, I am not dead of this lab created GOF virus (yet).

Yes I do know that. I spent a a formative bit of my life - from 16 years old to 22 years old- in and around South Africa when apartheid was in full bloom.

And I still cry for my beloved country. ( that is most likely lost on you )

And even afterwards. They would extend credit to jolly jack tar but he would have to make out an 'allotment note' to them when he joined his next ship giving them a large slab of his wages to them for the next few years to pay off his debt.
Which was why in more recent times you could only make out an allotment note to your own bank account or your mum.

I am very much against apartheid and any other form of discrimination. I think it is the poison in society. I am Dutch but have many friends from SA who left their country because of discrimination.
