Re: Rename or not?

Being a Stones fan, my choice would be "Emotional Rescue" but that could lead to problems with the Coast Guard if they only got half of the message.

5BTM was the call sign of a ship on the Algiers anchorage, she had a female
radio officer with the sweetest voice.

The only ship that had any luck getting an immediate response from Algiers Radio, (plus about 1000 crazed sailors), all on channel 16.

Ah... at the ceremony. It's very poor form and not respectful to the sea gods to reveal it beforehand.

(Just got off the phone to the Admiral, ceremony is firming up for the 26th.)

Nothing to peel off, just the Canadian registration numbers.

Ok, maybe it's just me, but that name makes me think of someone was into kinky stuff.

Just saying !

And now please spell that 3 times in a row at night while asking for a rescue vessel.

Also be careful the boat won't be known as Emotional Damage at the dockside.

Google "boat renaming ceremony" - easier for you to find it than me doing it for you. John Vigor is the author.

My PO took the old name with him for his new boat. I would have changed it anyway.

Good party, too.
If you use the John Vigor version, you should add Thor and Zeus. After all, you don’t want to be struck by lightning.
I wasn’t superstitious and didn’t do a renaming of my last boat: It was struck by lightning 2 weeks after she was launched, and again 11 years later.
I recently bought another boat and yes, I did use the Vigor version (with modifications) and we anointed her with Prosecco which was shared by all present on the dock.

Yes! And also meets the (unofficial) requirement of naming her after a mother or daughter if it's a woman. (Your mum or daughter will always be your mum or daughter, but your wife/girlfriend may not always be your wife/girlfriend...)

The other great opportunity would be to choose a name reflecting the "she never let me down" assurance expressed by her previous owner.

What a tribute!

Re: Rename or not?

Funny this thread appears now.
I notice someone recommended one should slap oneself upside the head if you are thinking of a silly pun.
Well i am about to go cruising for a few years, and I was thinking of changing the name to "No Fixed Place Of Aboat".
But I probably won't.

Hey LittleWing, I'm guessing a granddaughter would ok too ?

That's what we're planning to do. I may even have to "re-brand" the whole YouTube channel thing, because we are going to have such an awesome logo to go with the name, a "painting" my daughter did for us. We're just trying to figure out the best way of getting it onto a digital format. But it's pretty cool !
