Thanks for mentioning Borax. I knew it killed mold in houses, but totally forgot about applying that knowledge to the boat. We have a lot of minor musty moldy smell issues coming from the bilge (like many boats) and I'm going to try it.

Best way is to use vinegar and water 50/50 it cleans and kills it so it doesn't come back. Bleach cleans it but does not kill the spores and it regrows. You can alo use a mold killer specifically designed for wood - https://wooddiys.com/best-mold-killer-for-wood

I personally use JoMax and Bleach. same mixture I use to clean my home to get the mold spots off. Works like a charm. Use it each year and the bilge looks brand new. Mold removal is more effective if you take measures to prevent it.
